How tall should my ballet Barre be?
I am buying a free standing oak bar for my studio at home. I am 5'5'' how tall should the barre be? I also dance en pointe. I measured the one at my school but when I got home it seems to high any advice?
I've been shopping for a portable barre myself. My research seems to show that some companies claim that barres should be 42", period. That seems high. Others are adjustable between 39" and 42" which would allow for difference in your height, growing, and whether you are wearing your pointe shoes or not.
